Dear BOLers,
I missed you guys. I missed so much that I went to the BuzzOutLoud wikia and downloaded (randomly) some episodes from the past three years of BOLing. I got to hear the first voicemail from Shalin, the time when dr. Karl was just a med student and a lot of great stuff: Tom saying that would license for free his voice for TomTom’s GPS, Molly confusing hermetically for hydrogenation sealed and Veronica talking “Brazil for the win” were the best ones I’ve hear
And when I downloaded the best of 2006 episode, I noticed it was too short. And the same happened with the best of 2007 and 2008 episodes. So I figure a way to not let this happen again this year: a page on the wikia! http://buzzoutloud.wikia.com/wiki/Best_of_2009
Now the listeners will have a chance to put in their favorite buzzing moments of 2009 and help Jason to edit a longer (or even two!) Best of 2009 episode.
Hope you like it and, as always, love the show and keep up the good work!
Rafa

Hey Buzz crew,
I just wanted to make Tom feel just a little bit better about his predictions for last year. Specifically, the whole simultaneous broadcast on TV and the Internet thing. In the U.K. at least the BBC started doing just that in the last month (so still 2008) or so on BBC iPlayer. I think it started in early December or something.
Anyway hope you guys had a nice vacation.

Ever since I switched to over the air digital television, my life has been a TV horror film.
90 percent of the time the signal is so poor it cuts in and out every minute or two. If I am lucky enough to get a good signal I can’t move. Every time I or my roommate walks through the house, the signal cuts out. The resolution may be better, but of course it is, that's what happens when you shrink the picture. My screen now has a three-inch black border for most programs. It sucks! I was much happier with a little fuzzy picture and good audio, than a screen refresh rate of 1/minute and no audio, or almost worse when every actor suddenly becomes a gou’uld (not sure why that happens).
I’ve also noticed that the signal is the worst during peak viewing hours. You guys know if DTV has some type of shared bandwidth?
Long live analog!!!
Deeply saddened by digital

It may seem like $6 million is a lot to pay to have a space shuttle delivered (BOL 875), until you realize that $2.5 million is just for the bubble wrap! Not to mention all the !$&#^*# foam peanuts…

I think buying the space shuttle is a great idea! I want to chip in with $1000 USD, but since i can’t send actual money i figured i should send you $1000 USD in winkeys. I’m sure Oleg Teterin will be more than happy to buy them from us once we raise enough for the shuttle. In theese troubled times i can only afford $1000USD and i dont know how much that is in winkeys so please send the change back….preferably in sets of

To the Nearly Omniscient Leaders of the Buzz Army,
I heard your cries of suffering over the way Firefox skips over drop
down lists on the Mac. I too felt this pain in the past, but today I
bring you good news.
For some reason, Apple decided that the default behavior of OS X should
be to only set the focus on lists and text boxes when tabbing through a
screen. They did have the foresight, however, to let users change that
behavior in the “Keyboard and Mouse” preference pane.
Check out this handy blog entry for the full details, and fear no longer
the Firefox:

Hey JaMoToNat,
There's a cool Facebook Group where Aaron Sorkin himself has been answering posts, in an effort to do some background research for his Facebook script. I'm a huge fan of his writing, so it made my day when he posted back. Other actors like Josh Malina and Kim Webster have posted as well.

The hardware website Sharkeyextreme.com does a price check of various computer parts every month, and they just started checking SSD prices.
http://www.sharkyextreme.com/guides/article.php/10704_3787791__6
Long story short: prices vary considerably, this seems to depend on drives which are enterprise vs consumer focused, SLC vs MLC. budget speeds vs higher speed. etc.
Best deal though: OCZ “core V2″ 30gig drive is $70 or 2.33/GB
Worst Deal: Super Talent MasterDrive PX 64 GB goes for $807 or $12.61/GB (though i would assume its Crazy fast though)
check it out

In these troubled economic times the outtakes should not be equal in length to the show. In fact, it wouldn't bother me if you lose the outtakes altogether. If Molly wasn't involved she would probably be ranting about it.

I'm so happy you guys included some extra chit chat after the podcast on episode 874. I love that stuff. Sometimes your 35-40 minute shows just aren’t enough to get me through the hell that is work. I think you should record everything from the time you guys get in the studio until you leave and just have that edition available as a download on the blog (so as not to create too much extra work for Jason, unless he really wants to create an extra iTunes feed for it). Love the show!
Have a Merry Christmas,

Hey guys. I just had a quick one. I am creating some policy rules in a device and have to use a web form to do it, and I am wondering something. Why the hell does Firefox on the Mac skip over drop down list boxes? Its a pretty big pain in the butt to be going along line by line (tab-tab-tab-tab-tab——mouse over to drop down click —–tab-tab-tab). I figured since Molly ranted so much about the Flash bug in FF, she’s want this one. As far as I know it has been this way for ever, and Safari doesn’t do it.
Love the show,
Jason in Cincinnati

Dudes,
Regarding Monster and the whole company name controversy, the Linux
shampoo is one thing, but remember that video about the window wash I
found called ‘Vista — for windows’?
My argument still stands: that would still be a hilarious lawsuit. For
us, that is. Less funny for the company that makes the product (which
was called ‘Merrit’, in case you’d forgotten).
